Class of 1999 (Funny)

review

The period is in the future, and the level of adolescent gang violence has reached such a high level that the areas surrounding certain schools have been designated as "free-fire zones" into which neither the police nor the public are permitted to go. The "tactical education units" provided by Dr. Robert Forrest are important in helping Miles Langford, the principal of Kennedy High School, reclaim his school from the gangs. These are astonishingly human-like androids who have been designed to educate and who are provided with devastatingly effective answers to disciplinary issues in order to maintain order. The pupils at Kennedy High School, who have been aggressive and out of control, will get a true education... on how to remain alive, when they return to school on Monday.

Thoughts On This Film: Following the surprise hit Class of 1984, Class of 1999 tries to keep the basic hyper updated article punk and high school theme, but adds a lot of science fiction to the story. As it turns out, this movie didn't do very well at the box office. Is there more to this than meets the eye? This might have been better left in the 20th century and forgotten about.
